John Niles was born in about 1602, possibly in Beaminster, Dorset, England. He married Jane in 1635/6 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. They had seven children. He married Hannah Ames in about 1756. They had one son. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
