"As schools receive increasing numbers of children from diverse backgrounds, teachers are challenged to offer meaningful instruction that supports reading and writing development of diverse classrooms. This volumes offers asset-based approaches to literacy instruction for a variety of learners. Socio-constructivist theorists posit that humans construct knowledge through collaboration, i.e. social interaction.
