Résumé du livre

Eating disorders affect approximately 1,000 children in BC and are characterized by distortions in the perception of body shape and weight, coupled with severe disturbances in eating behaviours. This report summarizes the best currently available research evidence on preventing and treating eating disorders in children. Cognitive-behavioural techniques and media literacy programs can help prevent eating disorders. Treatment programs focus on family therapy (for anorexia) or cognitive-behavioural or interpersonal therapies (for bulimia) can also be effective.
