Alexander 'Greek' Thomson

Alexander Greek Thomson (1817-75) who lived and worked in Glasgow and was in practice there from 1849 produced a distintive modern architecture based on a fundamentalist classicism that earned him the nickname Greek. This book offers a visual guide to Thomson's work, featuring both archive photographs of buildings now demolished, drawings and Phil Sayer's specially commissioned photographs of extant works.
