Charles Waterton Correspondence to Pliny Miles

Correspondence from English naturalist and conservationist Charles Waterton (1782-1865) to American writer Pliny Miles (1818-1865), dated June 16, 1852, regarding a Boston newspaper article Miles had sent him. Waterton also discusses Miles's recent visit to his estate, Walton Hall, writing "Had the weather been fine and genial when you were here, we should have had a much better opportunity of examining the haunts of the birds." Waterton had built a wall around three miles of the estate for a wildfowl and nature reserve.
