The Ministry of Natural Resources - Northwestern Region's Wild Rice Programme monitors the wild rice resource in the province and collects inventory and harvest data. This report provides a brief analysis of wild rice production for the year. It compares the data from previous years, describes the influence of regional weather patterns, and determines the economic return to local harvesters. An industry update is given for North America, Canada and Ontario.
