Just when sleuthing Drs. Plato and Cal Marley decide to cut back on work and focus on family, Cal's life is threatened by an escaped mental patient she helped put away for murder three years ago. Reflecting back on the case, however, leads Cal to believe that maybe not all was as open-and-shut as it had seemed. As the duo's investigation continues, and inconsistencies in the original evidence arise, the escapee's psychiatrist turns up dead...but why? Is it simply revenge, or the act of an unknown killer determined to continue framing an innocent man?
