This book is a consolidated literature review of most Indian rivers on an ecological point of view. The book covers different aspects of river studies including the phytoplankton, Zooplankton, benthos, Primary production, and bacteriology. The central theme of the book is to compare the different rivers and differentiate the highly polluted from least polluted, though the water quality and aquatic biota are changing within a short period.
