Résumé du livre
Report of a study by the Manufacturing Institute and Stanford University discusses the collateral (indirect) benefits of investments in supply chain security enhancements by businesses in the face of potential disruptions by acts of terrorism, natural disasters and energy shortages. The study sought " ... to confirm and quantify the magnitude of collateral benefits received by a select group of companies that are considered 'innovators' in supply chain security in their industries such as chemicals, consumer goods, food, information technology, automotive parts and logistics service providers"--Foreword. The report also touches on U.S. government initiatives, such as the Advanced Manifest Rule (AMR)/Advance Cargo Information (ACI) program, Container Security Initiative (CSI), Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and Smart and Secure Trade-lanes (SST) program, as well as international initiatives by the World Trade Organization and the World Customs Organization.
