Of a research project undertaken in 1998-1999 on the screening, detection and care of Indigenous women with breast cancer in Queensland. It followed an earlier project conducted in 1997 which identified barriers to the use of currently available cervical cancer screening services. Outline of project aims, identification of issues influencing breast cancer screening, existing support services, provision of recommendations regarding support needed, ensuring culturally sensitive and appropriate care. Specific activities of the project icluding a review of health care and support services, discussions with Indigenous women, identification of barriers, development of recommendations.
