The human factors and structural analysis test showed that the Civil Defense shelter ventilating fan can be driven easily at pedal speeds from 45 to 62 rpm, and at an input power of 0.15 horsepower per operator. All structural failures have been corrected, and the unit is to be retested prior to releasing Specification MIL-V-40645, "Package Ventilation Kit, 20-inch Fan, Modular Drive (Civil Defense)."
