Letters written by William George Miller, Service number 8592. They cover the period from April 7, 1917 to May 7, 1918, when he was a stoker on HMS Marlborough and later at the R. N. Barracks, Portsmouth, and also on HMAS Australia. The letters were to a young woman named Miss C.B. Clay in Bradford, who he did not know at first but during the year they had an opportunity to meet. In his correspondence, Miller provides opinions about the war and the way it was fought.
