Résumé du livre

Having sung as a first tenor in the Royal Choral Society for 38 years Graham Lenton gives his personal memories of all that is entailed in a commitment for singing with a top London choir. Driving from his home, firstly from Buckinghamshire and later from Oxfordshire, a total drive of around 125,000 miles was made over the duration of his membership for 38 years, plus 700 rail journeys; every minute and mile worth it for the joy of singing and making music. Weekly rehearsals, concerts in many venues including many cathedrals in England and Europe, tours abroad in USA, France, Portugal, Slovakia, Malta, Poland, Germany, all feature in his recollections. Stories about concerts, soloists, conductors, recording studios, TV broadcasts and overseas tours all add to a colourful kaleidoscope of memorable markers in his life, as a tenor in one of London's major choirs. Having had no formal training, music was part of his life for over 60 years.
