"Upon the beginning of my fall 2011 semester I began thinking of my thesis concept. Excited and intrigued by both the narrative form in Hollywood cinema, as well as documentary filmmaking, I conceived of how to coalesce the two. Thus, began my conceptual framework to focus on the written word about the narrative form for my paper and the logistics of my thesis film: Headshot?a documentary style narrative about an Iraqi war veteran who has returned home to Pittsburgh. With two parts forging ahead down the same path, while in their respective lanes, maintaining my progress in which I accomplished production on both my thesis and film proved most important in terms of developing the work and seeing it through to successful completion. I created schedules and calendars to diligently maintain deadlines, as well as weekly progress reports to keep on top of production. While in pre-production, production and post-production, I focused on each task at hand and handled one job at a time. ..."--Introduction
