Résumé du livre
The core of the book is the set of photographs taken during the ballet's first production, albeit with "elaborate retouching" of the negatives by the photographer. An introduction by Richard Buckle tries to date the photographs more precisely, while an essay by Jennifer Dunning looks at the background to, and creation of, the ballet. An appendix by Ann Hutchinson Guest examines Nijinsky's personal dance notation system, in which he recorded the entire ballet. Also includes the French text of the Mallarme poem 'L'apres-midi d'un faune', along with Aldous Huxley's English version.
