Samuel Galloway was born in the southwest district of Scotland. He and his wife, Elizabeth Graham, were the parents of seven sons, all born in Scotland. It is not know when the family immigrated to Pennsylvania, or if Samuel Galloway ever immigrated. Elizabeth Graham Galloway was killed by Indians in Pennsylvania in 1755. Her youngest son, George Galloway, was born ca. 1710 in Wigton of Kircudbright County, Scotland. He was living in the Janiata Valley, Pennsylvania, before 1750. He married Rebecca Junkin (1720-1780) of French Huguenot descent in 1741. They had nine children, 1742-1757. He died in 1793 probably in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, and elsewhere.
