Bud and Bamboo

Bud is a nine year old boy, growing up in old China. He spends his days playing with Bamboo, his sister, and their cousin, Banner. Their days are marked with rituals at the family altar, games, pets, wonderful food, and attending school. Bud's father hopes he will work hard and become a scholar, a man of high distinction. And, after long study and hard work, Bud passes his three day examination. Meanwhile, Bamboo has many things to learn also, and works just as hard at her tasks.
