An independent review of the environmental monitoring program for aquaculture in South Australia recommended the development of regional and zone scale environmental monitoring, as well as site-scale auditing of industry practices. Consequently, SARDI undertook a 4-year environmental monitoring program from 2015/16 to 2018/19 for the tuna and other finfish sectors, which encompassed both regional and zone scale measurements and monitoring of benthic and pelagic ecosystems, which is reported on here.
