Résumé du livre
Recounts the story of Minna PĂ€chter, a Czech Jew born in 1872 and deported in 1939 to Theresienstadt, where she died in 1944. Also traces the journey of a cookbook, written by PĂ€chter and other women in Theresienstadt, over three continents and 25 years, until it reached PĂ€chter's daughter Anny Stern in Israel. Pp. 15-49 contain Stern's memoirs about her childhood in Bodenbach and escape to Palestine with her brother in 1939. Her mother, who was widowed, refused to join them. Ch. 3 (pp. 91-117, "Minna Ă Terezin", contains eyewitness reports by survivors on PĂ€chter's fate in the camp. PĂ€chter's cookbook (pp. i-xxxvi) is inserted between pages 87-91. A documentary film on PĂ€chter's life, "Les recettes de Minna - Terezin 1944", was produced in 2008.
