Résumé du livre
Analyses wages in China from 1978 to 2007. Overall real wages increased seven-fold during the period, but growth is uneven across ownership types, industries and regions. From the late 1990s, wages in state-owned enterprises increased rapidly and wage disparities between skill-intensive and labour-intensive industries have widened. Comparisons show that while China's manufacturing wages have met those in Asian emerging markets, it still enjoys labour cost advantages.
