Résumé du livre
Laboratory studies were conducted to determine criteria whichenhance the capture of fish by the intake current of a fishreturn system such as that proposed for Darlington NGS. Withmercury vapor lighting, the efficiency of capture of gizzard shadwas higher for cone-shaped intake structures with longer arcs, inwhich current velocity increased more gradually. Without mercuryvapor lighting, no consistent pattern was apparent betweencapture efficiency and arc length. Capture efficiency of yellowperch appeared to increase at higher current velocities, however, the large variability among replicate samples limited tests ofstatistical significance.
