Research materials pertaining to the history of Kauai, Hawaii. Includes typed transcripts (made about 1932) of original letters, journal, and reports, mainly of American Protestant missionaries, relating to missionary and family life; progress in building homes, schools, and missions; farming or planting efforts; and information about supplies, ship transportation, and early sugar operations at Koloa. Most letters are addressed to Levi Chamberlain, S.N. Castle, E.O. Hall, and their business partners in Honolulu.
