Résumé du livre

The 1002 Area comprises the coastal plain of the refuge lying north of the designated wilderness. This report consolidates the findings two studies conducted in the 1002 Area by Trawicki et al. (1991) and GPS, Inc. (1993) and biological data collected by the author, by other investigators, and from literature. The 1991 study was an inventory of 119 lake basins conducted by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service hydrologists in 1988, 1989, and 1990. The 1993 study was conducted in August 1993 by contract-surveyors who made physical measurements and collected biological information. The report also presents the logic that supports criteria used to quantify that portion of water supply needed to support refuge purposes (instream flow requirements), and supports the water rights applications made under Alaska water law.
