The overall ambience of Refugees United should reflect a clean and safe environment that is brought to life using mood lighting, textures in fabrics and shades of warm and cool tones. A feeling of unity and teamwork will be achieved through an open floor plan utilizing flexible furnishings. Technology is critical to incorporate throughout the conference, meeting and training rooms to assist with real-life scenario training. Non-porous flooring will be placed in corridors and high traffic areas not only for ease of maintenance, but also for the refugees preference. Waterfalls, fireplaces and planters will be placed throughout the building to reinforce the sense of security and relaxation. Window placement is critical as to ensure ones feeling of security, therefore placement will be less in private areas.
