Résumé du livre
Poetry From The Heart is a compilation of poems the author wrote over the years. It also includes other family members poems or verses. Since the author was inspired by her mother, Mary, the book is dedicated to her and includes her poems. Section I is about Mary, her poems and poems about her. Section II is a compilation of poems by the author and her siblings. This section is divided into themes. Section III is a dialogue between the author and one of her sisters about their grandchildren. Section IV is a ballad to the home the author grew up in and a tribute to the family. Section V is called Lagniappe which means something extra, This contains poems written by the author about growing up in a small rural community called Godeffroy in New York. Each poem was inspired by something or someone in the poet's life. The author wanted to include different types of poetry (free verse, ballads, acrostic, Haiku, limerick and sonnets, couplets, blues, and cinquian) hoping to inspire the readers.
