Résumé du livre
This document explores how increased use of disease management programs would affect health system performance along nine dimensions. Evidence suggests that disease management improves the reliability with which patients receive recommended care. It is uncertain how disease management would affect overall health spending, patient experience, and health. There is no evidence about how implementation would affect consumer financial risk, waste, or health system capacity; disease management programs are not relevant to coverage. Implementing disease management programs is relatively easy.
