I had set everything up; the ring was a huge five thousand dollar ring that I had ordered all the way from France. It had actually taken two weeks to arrive. I knew that nothing was going to make her reject my proposal.

I was now standing at the door of the bathroom. Though I was still in my pajamas, I knew that I still looked very handsome in them.

I was very ready. The ring was in my pocket, then I heard a knock at the door, it was Van.

“I’m in here honey, open the door.”

I was about to kneel down when the door hit me. It wasn’t pleasant; she had opened the door so violently that it hit me hard. I immediately knew that there was trouble so I put the ring back into my pocket and took the phone that she gave me.

It was a message and it read:

“Thanks for yesterday, hope I’ll see you today.” Van had seen the message and needed no explanation. Her conclusion was clear, I was at it again.
