Résumé du livre
This report describes a portion of the work performed under tasks A and B of the study titled "Evaluation of Barrier Limit Capacity for Different Classes of Vehicles and Impact Conditions" and presents the information obtained. The objectives of this segment of the work was to collect and report geometric and inertial properties of vehicles ranging in size from an 1800-lb automobile to a 20,000-lb school bus. This data is intended for use in analytical studies of vehicle-barrier impacts and in selecting specific vehicles for use in a full-scale vehicle crash testing program. It is also planned that measurements of inertial properties will be made on six selected vehicles for which these values are not now known. The work reported herein consisted of a review of available literature and a parking lot survey of vehicles. The literature review was performed to collect and report vehicle inertial measurements. The parking lot survey was performed to obtain photographs of vehicles parked adjacent to simulated W-beam and thrie-beam guardrails
