Résumé du livre
Documents a relational database shell that contains the design of the entire database on marked Pacific salmonids and complete versions of all tables except three principal tables of release, sample, and recovery data. Also includes procedures for extracting from the official database all the information necessary to populate an empty shell for a specified list of tag codes; background information on the characteristics of marked salmonid data; and the design philosophy applied to the shell. To illustrate this philosophy, the report proposes a simple catch database that could be used to share the knowledge of experts on individual fish species. The appendix contains technical information necessary for connecting to the official database on the Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans computer network.
