ONCE MORE AROUND THE SUN is the sixth book of poems written by Ruth Fredericks Guillard. Each book has a slightly different "feel" to it; in this collection, there is a mellowness that comes of being comfortable with later years of life spent with her husband in their log home on a cove of the Damariscotta River in coastal Maine. The silence the author finds there is mirrored by the inner silence the reader feels in many of her poems. Nature lovers will enjoy the sensitive, often humorous, descriptions of the birds and animals that live their lives around, and sometimes in, the Guillard home as if it were part of the scenery.
