Wherever truth is found, there are bound to be controversies regarding it and perversions of it. That is definitely the case with the Christian Scriptures. In the days of the early church fathers, the two major perversions to the Scripture were antinomianism (no law) and legalism (too much law). As time moved forward many disputes arose among the church leaders regarding doctrine and belief. From those disagreements sprang many more perversions.
