One official summons addressed to John Gordon Smith to attend The Legislative Council to be affirmed a Member of Parliament of the Legislative Council of Queensland and the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, 'to deliberate upon, treat and consider of diverse weighty matters, affairs and business concerning our said state, and to give advice and consent to the making of laws for the Peace, Welfare and Good Government, thereof.' Dated 19 February 1920 and signed by The Honourable William Lennon, Lieutenant-Governor of Queensland and its Dependencies, at Government House. The governor's seal is affixed at lower left. Signature at base of document reads 'Edward [Shroden?]'.
