Résumé du livre
Letter, 3 January 1841, written from Washington (D.C.), by Patrick Calhoun Caldwell (1801-1855) to Henry Summer in Newberry (South Carolina), mentioning political matters and a party held at the White House on New Year's Day, requesting news of recent social activities in Newberry, S.C., and lamenting the lack of letters received, a side effect he attributes to a recent "rage for matrimony" amongst his friends. Caldwell vows that upon his return to Newberry, "I will... make some of them recollect me, especially the females, for I begin to get hell in my neck and sorter feel 'wolfish' about the head and shoulders."
