In the seven element cluster test program [1,2], conducted at wecan under contract to aecl/oh, the element sheath strain at the end of the thermal cycle is a test parameter [3,4]. this memorandum presents the results of the single element test, target-7-004, run at the proposed cluster-7-004 test conditions of 900 degrees c sheath external temperature and an element to chamber delta p of 0.238 mpa, designed to obtain a target sheath strain of approximately 15 percent. the test conditions, along with the temperature and pressure measurements, post-test element geometry measurements, and comparison of experimental results to sheath deformation models are documented.
