A Field Guide to Reclaiming the Wreckage is a portable collection of micro-essays written by former Collateral contributors. Each essay speaks to the process of creating art (both visual and literary) in the aftermath of violent conflict, including immigrant perspectives, veteran perspectives, military family perspectives, and more. There's no other book like this, and it is meant to speak to the countless number of people whose lives are impacted by violent conflict everyday. It encourages artists to create while acknowledging the risks and examining the reasons why art is becoming more and more crucial to the survival of humanity each day.
