Field notes Vol. 360 contains diary entries for William Campbell Steere's trip to Europe in 1954 to attend the 8th International Botanical Congress in Paris, and additional travel to Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The diary entries are for the dates May 3-7 (for a trip to Washington, D.C. for meetings at the National Science Foundation), and June 20-August 19 (for the main trip to Europe). The daily entries are very detailed, and include travel itineraries and expenditures, notes on weather and living conditions, descriptions of meetings and conference sessions, and botanical observations during the travel in Scandinavia.
