The author seeks to establish the falsity of most of the claims made throughout the United States about a supposed immense Townley estate in England, and its connections with the Lawrence and Chase families. The author also offers facts to show that many of the associations created to collect this Townley estate have the greater intention of collecting money from gullible supposed descendants. In making his arguments, the author includes much genealogical data and family history about the Townley, Lawrence, Chase, Stephens (Stevens) and other families in the United States, in Canada, and in England.
