"The Big Player" deals with the experiences of Ken Uston as a member of the Blackjack card-counting team led by professional gambler Al Francesco. That is only the beginning of the story. The Al Francisco team broke up and later Ken Uston started forming his own teams, first using counters from the original Al Francesco team and then recruiting and adding new players. The original book has been updated with technical information by team member Roy Hoppe explaining how the team and card counting system worked and also explaining the problems the team faced and the difficulties that led the team eventually to break up.
