Résumé du livre

"Fashion brand companies are increasingly being expected to trace and assure the integrity of their full supply chain as well as publicly communicating this information. Traceability of fibers and textiles used in fashion products may be a challenge for some fashion brand companies since these suppliers are multiple stages removed from the finished fashion product. Therefore, companies are implementing strategies to trace and assure the integrity of fiber and textile suppliers. One strategy is sourcing fibers and/or textiles that are certified around environmental and social standards. Certifications are branded programs that assure and document that specific standards have been met (e.g., Global Organic Textile Standard). However, fashion brand companies must weigh the advantages and disadvantages of these certifications to determine the best implementation strategy for tracing and assuring fiber and textile supplier integrity. This case explores supply chain traceability strategies and asks students to describe, compare, and evaluate certification programs for cotton and recommend a course of action for a fictious company, Triple T Apparel. Students are also asked to develop a communication strategy for consumers."--Bloomsbury Publishing.
