Résumé du livre

Having published four non-fiction books on the Oak Island, Nova Scotia, mystery, author and historian James McQuiston decided to take on the subject in the form of a historical novel. This book is based on actual documents dating as far back as the 16th century, and many of the source quotes are reproduced faithfully, with the language being modernized for readability. The characters are real people whose extraordinary lives were recorded in various books and documents. Official records of the Privy Council and of Freemasonry, actual letters from kings and noblemen, land and knighthood charters, and many other documented sources have been used to piece this story together. While it is only one version of the mystery, it is based on four years of research, four trips to Nova Scotia (including ten days on Oak Island), and three trips to Scotland.McQuiston has consulted with the searchers on Oak Island many times, and has appeared on The Curse of Oak Island TV show four times. He is a fellow with the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, having received research assistance from the Society, from the National Museums of Scotland, the National Records of Scotland, the British Museum, and the Nova Scotia Archives.Oak Island: The Novel offers a chance to go back in time to the days of swashbuckling seafarers, courtly intrigue, great love affairs, and best of all - treasure buried on an island!McQuiston hopes everyone will enjoy this trip into the world of historical fantasy, while learning some real history along the way.
