Résumé du livre
Memoirs of a Jew who was born in Lodz in 1922. Following the German occupation in 1939 he fled to Belarus. Pp. 122-236 relate his experiences after the Nazi occupation of Belarus in 1941. Posing as a non-Jew, Halperin worked on a farm near Baranavichy until summer 1942, after which he worked as a translator for a German officer, Hans Kanzow, who was in charge of the forests in Belarus. At the same time, Halperin was an informer for a Soviet partisan group, providing information on the movements of German troops in the forests. In spring 1944 he was granted a request for transfer to a forestry office in Poland; soon after, he fled and joined the Armia Krajowa. He participated in the 1944 Warsaw uprising and in sabotage activities. After the war he emigrated to Eretz-Israel.
