Résumé du livre
Analyzes philosophical aspects of the tension between the consciousness of evil and love of life in Primo Levi's writings. Pp. 23-53 deal with Levi's experiences in Auschwitz, as reflected in his "Se questo e un uomo" (1947) and "Lilith" (1976). Contends that Levi wrote the memoir in order to free himself of a poisonous past, whereas the novel "Lilith" expresses his need to use the experiences of the camps positively, to deepen his understanding of man's nature. The other chapters discuss other works by Levi, especially "La tregua" and "Il sistema periodico."
