Donald Mackenzie was the librarian of the Garrison Library at Corfu at the time of his death, having been born in the Parish of Cawdor, Nairn. He enlisted in the Army in 1814 at Aberdeen. The series of letters are full of interesting anecdotes and facts which have never before been given to the public.
