Résumé du livre

The Whaleback study area is situated within the montane and sub-alpine subregions of the Rocky Mountain Natural Region in south-west Alberta. This report begins with a description of the study area, including its history and land use, climate, topography, geology, soils, vegetation, and wildlife. It then describes the methods used to conduct a biophysical land classification inventory and identify and map significant ecological features, disturbance features, and sensitive features in the area. Established range vegetation community types were used as components of biophysical map units to supply additional range inventory data. Results of the mapping and inventory are then presented, and gaps in the data are identified. Finally, general observations of the study area are provided.
