Résumé du livre
Memoirs of a Jew born in 1934 in Paris, the only child of a Polish immigrant family. Kac's father was mobilized in 1939 and taken prisoner by the Germans. Kac and his mother remained in Paris and avoided the Vel d'Hiv roundup by hiding for a few days. In fall 1942 Kac was sent to a Christian home in Fontainbleau; after returning to Paris, he was sent to a boarding school in a Parisian suburb. In February 1944 he was placed with a non-Jewish family in Sarthe, where he remained until the liberation. After the war he returned to Paris, where his mother had survived in hiding. His father returned from a German POW camp in August 1945.
