Polish artist Monika Sosnowska makes work with space and about space, so that space becomes an experience and attributes such as 'narrow / wide', 'closed / open', and 'low / high' are experienced sensuously and emotionally. In a number of recent works Sosnowska has transgressed the rather artificial border between contemporary art and architecture. She is interested in places encumbered with error, knocked out of functionality. The artist's latest project, called 1:1, originates from a reflection of post-war architectural concepts analyzed from the point of view of an Eastern European and offers a surprisingly vital engagement with the International Movement.
