A short story following the Grand Chief of Kimah and his struggle between the passion he feels for his friend Aluraa and the consequences he will face if he tethers anyone to his life. As he battles his emotions, a rumor spreads like fire throughout the continent stating that anyone who claims him will inherit his ability to consume souls. When an enemy attack endangers Aluraa's life, Nozak's powers threaten to devour everything in its path- even the one he loves.
