The purpose of this monograph is to provide philatelic evidence produced during the exchanges alongside historical underpinnings that put the postal history into perspective. The primary focus is on the exchange ship Gripsholm and the two diplomatic exchanges with Japan, both involving noncombatants but no POWs, conducted in June-August 1942 and September-December 1943.
