Résumé du livre

On his way to his next assignment in Fort Wingate, New Mexico Territory, contract cavalry scout Steve Bard is surrounded by a group of Indians. With his horse already exhausted and nowhere to go, he sets the prairie on fire in order to get away before his enemies can reach him. Successful, he is troubled by the fact that he could not detect the tribe--they wore no feathers. Farther along in his travels he comes across a house and mineshaft that have been attacked, and eventually meets up with some farmers who tag along for the rest of his journey.

In his travels to the Fort he encounters Lane, a hotheaded woman, Frank and Jesse James, and Clell Miller, all in an attempt to find the Indians who are terrorizing the countryside and bring them to justice.

Packed with excitement and hair-raising fights, Massacre Mountain will delight C. Jack Lewis fans.
