Résumé du livre
"Dr. Ralph Schram, a Dutchman by birth, was educated in Britain. He took a degree in chemical microbiology at Cambridge in 1949 before qualifying in medicine at St. Thomas's Hospital in London in 1954. He earned the Diploma of Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1960, and the D.I.H. a year later. In this book he has brought together for the first time the histories of the medical and health services of the ministries of health and labour, the armed forces, industry, missionary and other philanthropic societies, and the international health organisations in Nigeria. The author is well qualified to present this story, as he has spent fifteen years in Africa, nine of them in Nigeria. After internship and registrar posts in Ibadan at the University College Hospital, he taught in the Department of Preventative and Social Medicine for four years, during which time he travelled widely gathering historical material from many parts of the country..." -- back cover.
